Exploring ways of connecting with the history of a place in a form of a temporary installation, and bringing it into the contemporary landscape of Kirkkonummi, a historic town west of Helsinki. The output was an arch built of reed, which traced a shape found embedded in the structure of the medieval church in the centre of the town. The project also included a series of street interviews questioning the meaning of the word arch.
Photographs of people making arches and their interviews were combined to make a video shown at the exhibition with photographs of the process of building the reed arch. The workshop was organised by TAIK (University of Art and Design) led by a French architect and artist, Genevieve Blons.
