This housing development is designed especially for the 50+ age group, who want to plan ahead into their retirement and old age. The development highlights the importance of the surrounding community and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. Whilst apartments are fully equipped and designed for independent living, the residents who move in are also committed to taking part in communal activities. Most importantly they prepare and share meals together and take care of the day to day maintenance of the buildings.
Once completed, the development will consist approximately 60 apartments in two buildings, connected by a communal living space. Other shared spaces include a dining room, three saunas, a gym, small food store, wood workshop and a laundry room. Residents also become members of a private car/ cycle club which reduces the need for car parking.
The architecture of the “Ilona” residential building, aims to create a positive and an energetic impact. The use of colour in the façade treatments is carefully researched and forms an integral part of the overall architecture.
